This could probably be considered my absolute favorite time of the year. I absolutely don’t mean to sound like I do not enjoy the company of others, or that I don’t want other people to enjoy this beautiful place I am fortunate enough to live in, but the pre-tourist time of year is like heaven for me.

I was reluctant to enter an image into my local camera clubs photo of the month contest this month. The subject was night photography. As you can tell from my body of work it is not an aspect of photography that I have spent a lot of time with. I have dabbled on occasion and understand the basics of how to capture a decent shot, but it isn’t something that wakes me up in the middle of the night with some new idea. Well, not usually…
